WHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE?

• Subject Matter Expert [SME] in the Property line of business (including Security) for all matters relating to the delivery of Loss Control products and services, inclusive of training, creation of collateral materials, and supplying technical assistance and support to our internal and external business partners.
• Provide the needed technical guidance to understand and anticipate changes in industry, regulation, appetite and business needs.
• Provide support to our largest internal underwriting customer through monthly meetings, evaluating existing and new business exposures and controls, support of new underwriting product initiatives to include policies and procedure updates, reviewing and processing large losses, and providing training support and materials for underwriting business partners.
• Strengthen the level of field consultant expertise within the Loss Control Organization in this respective technical discipline.
• Knowledge and support of The Hartford's business model and key financial drivers is necessary in order to add value and drive results. As a result, the candidate must have the confidence to speak to the issues that affect the financial conditions of our organization and offer advice to lessen exposures.

• Undergraduate degree preferred
• Minimum of eight (8) years of insurance industry experience relating to the Property line of business
• Required experience in Building Construction, Fire Protection Systems, and a grasp of regulatory issues
• Professional designation such as PE, CFPS, ARM, CSP, etc. preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills that result in high quality written documents and presentations, that are clear, concise and focused
• Excellent planning, organization, project management and time management skills
• Ability to influence and motivate others, both internal and external
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Proficient with presentation platforms such as Go To Webinar and Sametime
