Are you a mental health professional with a passion for helping people? Join the Providence Kodiak Island Counseling Center, a facility that offers a wide array of mental health services located in spectacular Kodiak, Alaska, which is currently seeking an Clinician - Family Focused Program!
This position will provide mental health and substance abuse services to youth and families in various settings. This Master's level clinician is responsible for taking call weekly for emergencies on a rotating schedule.
Requirements for the position are:
Master's degree in social work, psychology, or counseling One year post graduate experience required in a mental health and substance abuse counseling Must have knowledge of practices of psychotherapy and general characteristics of major mental illnesses as identified in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual IV (DSM-IV) Must have knowledge of family systems theory and the basic dynamics of substance abuse and addictions Must have the ability to establish and maintain respectful and effective relationships with staff, clients and others; prepare legible, accurate and concise records and reports; observe behavior and conduct interactions with clients; contribute positively to the center's reputation; and maintain confidentiality Must have basic word processing skills Must be able to read, write and speak English Preference will be given to those candidates that hold a chemical dependency certification.
This position will include a 3% geographical differential.
