Assistant Biller (temporary)
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Local medical receivables company has an opening for a full time Assistant Biller.
Provide support to Billing Representatives onsite at a local hospital. Assistant Billers provide clerical assistance in pulling claim forms and files. Some light insurance follow up work will be required. Must have some medical claims expperience and a background working in an office environment. We call carriers for status updates, resumbit claims and write appeals when necessary.
Other duties as assigned by management.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- Experience with Microsoft office is helpful
- Experience in medical billing field (hospital claims experience is preferred)
- Experience with following up on insurance denials and appeal protocols
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD9 & CPT coding
- Experience with Medicaid claims is helpful
- Must be willing to work on a temporary basis
