Embedded IP Design Engineer*: Xilinx Inc.

· Complete development and ownership of FPGA based microprocessor peripheral IP cores

· Specify, design, and verify complex microprocessor based IP cores using VHDL or Verilog

· Work with verification engineers to help verify the IP core operation in simulation

· Develop test software to validate the operation of the IP cores in hardware

· Advise management of project and product timelines and schedules

· Work with Marketing to define IP core requirements and to write technical documentation

· Work with Embedded Tool developers to specify and manage the delivery of these IP cores

· Work with Sales Field personal on customer support

· Work with Cross Functional Teams and key stakeholders to define future release plans

Required Position Qualifications

· BSEE / BSCE with 7-8 years of relevant work experience

· Design experience with VHDL or Verilog, XST and Xilinx tools

· Excellent debugging skills and familiarity with Xilinx Chipscope

· Experience in high speed digital logic design targeting Xilinx FPGAs

· Experience writing software (drivers, test and application code) using C or C++

· Experience with microprocessor and associated bus protocols

· Experience working with software engineers for HW/SW integration

· Experience with processor system design, applications development

· Excellent communication (verbal and written) and teamwork skills

· Experience with scripting languages (Shell, Perl, TCL, Python)

· Experience with both Unix/Linux and Windows based development platforms

Desired Position Qualifications

· MSEE / MSCE

· Experience in networking, communications, or other target application areas

· Experience in PCI Express, DMA, USB or Ethernet
