JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE: Neuroscience Program Coordinator

DEPARTMENT: Neuroscience Center

REPORTS TO: Vice President & CNO

GENERAL SUMMARY AND SCOPE

The Neuroscience Program Coordinator will assist with all development, implementation, and marketing of the Neuroscience Program at Firelands Regional Medical Center. This individual will provide direct and indirect support of all physicians involved in the Program.

This individual has extensive knowledge of the Program’s components. This individual serves as a resource to the health care community on neurologic issues. Effectively interacts with patients, families, physicians in communicating services provided to meet the individual client’s needs in a timely professional manner.

The Neuroscience Program Coordinator will support the values that we share as an organization: service, integrity, respect, unity, and stewardship, by incorporating them into our standards of performance and demonstrating these values in all aspects of our work.

ESSENTIAL TASKS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Works directly with physicians to outline program champion, clinic structure and mobilize human, financial and material resources to accomplish objectives.

Through interaction with physician, seeks opportunities for service improvement.

Works collaboratively with other departments regarding necessary diagnostic and or treatment equipment and scheduling.

Works closely with the marketing department to develop new marketing materials with permission of Senior Management.

Helps identify outreach opportunities for program growth.

Tracks and trends individual physician clinic patterns and responds timely to changes in needs.

Assists with tracking monthly clinic statistics to assist with program growth and development.

Assists in developing monthly lecture series for professional and community outreach.

Organizes new projects and follows through timely and completely with assigned tasks. Ensures that projects are completed on time and on budget, with community information communicated timely as well.

Establishes ongoing relationships with key referral sources and meets with them personally on a routine basis

Provides educational materials to key systems users as needed.

Serves as a liaison to all applicable consumer groups.

Seeks new opportunities for revenue enhancement

Demonstrates flexibility and openness to change to promote and support positive financial outcomes.

Assists with preparation of annual operational and capital budgets.

Maintains operation within approved budget. Fills out variance reports as necessary.

Maintains a working knowledge of the competition and how strategies and tactics work in the marketplace.

Demonstrates effective marketing practices to increase overall volume.

Assists in interviewing, hiring, training and evaluating new program staff members.

Actively addresses/resolves concerns as they are reported, utilizing supervisory involvement as needed.

OTHER TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Demonstrates Service Excellence and ACE.

Participates in department performance improvement activities as assigned and attends required training.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Maintains and upgrades professional knowledge in the area of neurology.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Previous experience in clinical healthcare required. Some college level coursework preferred. Working knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Experience in a business setting with strong sales component.

Individual will possess knowledge and understanding of the Neuroscience Center operations and services, pricing and payment for services variations. Individual will possess interpersonal skills and present themselves in a professional and friendly manner. Marketing or business experience is highly desirable.

Ability to problem-solve and to identify opportunities to expand and enhance service lines while working collaboratively with ancillary directors, physicians and marketing personnel.

Ability to read and write business communications and work with numbers and complex arithmetic.

Ability to understand and communicate effectively in both written and oral form.

Must possess a valid State of Ohio motor vehicle operator's license and insurable under Firelands auto policy. Employee must provide proof of personal automobile liability insurance coverage upon request.

Ability to create, maintain and work in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining an accident free work place, including ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of emergency codes.

Successful completion of a one hundred eighty (180) day get-acquainted period.
