The Senior Assessment Specialist will provide Scientific Affairs services to enhance the Company's development and operations activities. Support of rater training programs is a major responsibility. S/he manages multiple issues concurrently while demonstrating an understanding of the relationship and interdependencies of client projects. Can be a home based or office based depending on location.
Major Responsibilities:
- Manages a functional area that services multiple customer bases.
- Demonstrate scientific credibility.
- Communicate project status and timelines.
- Develop and communicate scientific expertise and best practices to ensure client deliverables.
- Recognize the need to seek assistance or inform senior management of specific issues.
- Provide project support, performance management, and career development guidance to direct reports (if applicable), including: Communicate role, responsibilities and performance expectations to all team members. Provide feedback to team members and supervisors (if applicable) on individual performance and contributions to the overall team effort. Train division staff and project teams. Participate in the performance review process. Communicate regularly with direct supervisors of all indirect reporting personnel to resolve any noted skill deficiencies and arrange for appropriate action to be taken to address the problem.
- Manage personal career development and administrative tasks, including: Participate in company-sponsored training programs as required to ensure that skills are learned, maintained, and focused accordingly.
- Perform necessary administrative functions and additional tasks as requested.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- A minimum of a Ph.D. qualification or equivalent in psychology/behavioral sciences, or Medical degree with experience in Psychiatry.
- Understanding and use of psychometric scales / rater training
- Ability to gain expertise in assessment methodology.
- Some experience within the pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
- Experience working in a clinical research organization (CRO) or an investigational site would be advantageous.
- Demonstrated teaching skills.
- Excellent planning/organizational skills and ability to prioritize and multitask.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to develop effective cross-functional relationships.
- Demonstrated ability in managing change.
- Results orientated.
- Excellent communication, relationship building and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in and an aptitude for delivering presentations is required, as is a willingness to travel.
