Manufacturing Engineer, Automation: Cepheid

Manufacturing Engineer position will support manufacturing operations, for production of high volume diagnostic disposables. Candidate completes tasks and provides information that supports manufacturing operations, such as performing historical data analysis, design, documentation, implementation and validation of equipment and process changes. The selected candidate will develop, implement, and support both hardware and software for data acquisition and real time control systems used in manufacturing. Candidate will collaborate with system users to develop and refine requirements for new systems and/or identify changes to existing ones, and implement and test them with Cepheid staff and outside contractors.

Support daily manufacturing operations, starting at 5:00AM (troubleshoot and resolve problems with equipment while in production) Make design improvements and changes to systems in manufacturing Develop and maintain documentation, initiate and implement change orders Work with Process Engineering during the development, implementation, validation, and transfer of new manufacturing equipment and processes

BS in Engineering or Sciences, or equivalent experience 2+ years experience in manufacturing environments. Experience in biotech industry preferred Hands on experience with electro-mechanical troubleshooting in a high-volume automated manufacturing environment preferred SolidWorks experience Instrumentation knowledge and calibration experience Experience with Capital Equipment Ability to develop and use electrical and control system drawings MS Windows enterprise application experience
