Overview:
The Engineering Project Manager is responsible for managing a wide range of complex projects and initiatives that involve the Development, Quality Engineering, Technical Publications, and User Experience teams within the Global Engineering group. The Project Manager also interacts extensively with non-Engineering groups such as Product Management, Product Marketing, Customer Support, Professional Services, and Program Management. This role facilitates, coordinates, and leads the teams to complete a variety of project plans, tasks, and milestones.

Responsibilities:

· Provide project planning, scheduling, tracking, and resource coordination for major releases, as well as service packs.
· Use project management techniques to achieve project goals on time and on cost, while managing risk.
· Prioritize the activities of cross-functional project teams.
· Identify and manage dependencies between and within the functional groups.
· Proactively identify risks and suggest mitigation strategies to address the risks.
· Create and monitor schedules to meet project deliverables and resolve scheduling issues.
· Communicate project status, issues, and risks and their resolution across functional organizations and management.
· Support, manage, and influence continuous improvement of product development processes, practices, and initiatives.
· Respond to unforeseen demands and adapt to changing requirements or responsibilities.

Experience:
· 5+ years of experience as a project manager, preferably within a commercial software development environment
· Works effectively with senior management.
· Takes initiative in making decisions and follows through to ensure successful results
· Proven track record to lead multiple complex projects simultaneously and complete them on time
· Demonstrated ability to persuade and influence others without having direct authority over resources
· Strong aptitude for developing partnerships across functional areas


Skills & Education:
· Outstanding leadership and organizational skills
· Extensive understanding of project management methodology
· Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· Results-driven
· Ability to balance big-picture objectives with numerous detailed tasks
· Familiarity with security technologies a plus

Education/Experience:
· BS or equivalent in a technical or business discipline, or equivalent
