Coordination of Benefits (COB) Manager, Metrics and Reporting - Frederick, MD, Roanoke, VA or Trumbull, CT
Position Description:
The Coordination of Benefits (COB) Department is a part of Payment Accuracy Solutions under Ingenix Payer & Government Programs.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Investigate and identify members who potentially have other insurance coverage
- Members who are identified as having other coverage are flagged in the core eligibility system(s) so that claims payment can be coordinated appropriately.
- Responsible for day-to-day management of COB data, reporting, metrics, and analytics
- Ensure that all projects, initiatives, and team deliverables are met
- Responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly operational reporting, including finance and compliance reporting that must meet service levels and ISA's.
- Work with various types of data and will perform detailed analysis on the data, with a primary focus on member/eligibility data and claims data
- Data extraction and mining are key aspects of this position, as is the ability to work with data warehousing structures
- Provide presentations, summaries, and recommendations to COB leadership based on analysis
- Will also work with leadership to establish goals/targets for the COB team
- Direct the Reporting & Analytics team and provide coaching and mentorship to each team member

- 2+ years experience performing quantitative data analysis of health care claims or 2 years experience working with health products and claim payment systems
- 1 - 2 years supervisory experience required, within healthcare environment preferred
- 1+ year claims experience (member and claims data) required, healthcare environment preferred
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel- reporting outputs, producing data and reports & Outlook) required; Visio and Access is preferred
- Data base platforms such as: Oracle, SQL, DB2, and reporting platforms such as: SQL reporting service and/or COSMOS is strongly preferred
- Coordination of Benefits (COB) experience is preferred
- Decision support tools used for data analysis strongly preferred (e.g. SAS, SPSS, SQL etc.)
- Effective communicator who demonstrates leadership qualities required
- Healthcare terminology preferred
