This role manages the ongoing implementation of employee relations initiatives which have an enterprise-wide impact. Major initiatives include, but are not limited to: random drug testing; annual background investigations; and enterprise community management for internal collaboration tools.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Development and administration of day-to-day implementation details.
- Development of appropriate reporting and tracking mechanisms to ensure programs are operating within established guidelines.
- Recommendation of process improvements and performance standards.
- Documentation of all processes and procedures.
- Management of vendors and internal resources which impact the programs' success.
Additional job duties include:
- Outlining the general process and specific steps in implementing existing and new employee relations initiatives.
- Developing the necessary reports and tracking mechanisms to ensure programs are meeting goals and are successful.
- Championing initiatives that have broad corporate impact: understand and support new initiatives; provide education to encourage participation; and advocate for the participation of management, human capital and employees.
- Administering day-to-day activities related to various employee relations programs. Use broad judgment in decision making and raise concerns appropriately.
- Documenting all processes with detailed information on decision making and policy implications; monitoring adherence to process and policies.
- Fostering an environment of continuous improvement and creating opportunities to measure progress.
- Ensuring Human Capital policies, practices, processes and systems are in alignment with UnitedHealth Group's core mission and values.
Qualifications
- BS or BA degree.
- At least 5 to 7 years of human resources experience with at least 4 years experience in employee relations, including ongoing program management & administration.
- Vendor management experience.
- Strong process and policy development experience.
- Strong interest in social media and various online and internal collaboration tools.
- Demonstrated project management skills.
- Demonstrated decision-making ability and excellent judgment.
- Broad business acumen.
- Collaborative, with strong ability to build relationships, gain credibility and partner with others.
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and well-developed interpersonal skills (influence, negotiation and diplomacy).
- Computer literacy, including knowledge of MS suite of applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Strong analytical skills (problem assessment, solution generation).
- Ability to work in a fast paced, high stress, team environment.
