Under the guidance of Manufacturing Engineers, support the on-going operation of Vaccine Operations facilities and equipment as a member of the Viral Vaccine Engineering Services department (VVES). Provide daily equipment trouble shooting, technical, and mechanical support to the daily operations of bulk biological manufacturing departments. Facilities will be in regular operation or will be in start-up mode. Interact with other production support groups (technology, automation, maintenance, quality) and capital project teams while completing assignments. Provide progress updates to mentor summarizing the status of the assignments that are underway. Work with assigned mentor to develop personal and professional skills. Note that this is a paid co-operative assignment whereby a weekly stipend will be provided. Housing subsidy is not available as part of this program and if required by the student must be funded 100% by the student. Qualifications This position requires applicants to be pursuing degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline. A Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 3.0 is preferred. Candidate must be available for full time employment (40 hours per week) for a period of 6 months targeted to begin in March 2010.
