Certified Medical Billing Manager needed for non-profit in the Central Billing Office (CBO)

Health Choice Network is searching for a Billing Manager to join its Ft. Myers' billing office.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Supports and encourages others to support the Mission , Core, Values and Goals of Health Choice Network
  • Delegates work assignments to CBO staff and monitors work levels of department for overall efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Recognizes, interprets and evaluates inconsistencies, discrepancies and inaccuracies in accounts receivable and system files and initiates appropriate corrective methods.
  • Uses reference materials appropriately and efficiently to facilitate the accuracy, clarity and completeness of the system.
  • Develops and maintains a body of skills and knowledge on the Medical Manager system to create maximum efficiencies for all HCN member centers.
  • Works closely with HCN CBO Support to maximize efficiencies within the Medical Manager system and to minimize “downtime” or lost productivity due to system related issues.
  • Develops and maintains a body of skills and knowledge on FQHC and physician billing and reimbursement issues. Shares this information with other CBO staff members as well as HCN member centers and their staff.
  • Keeps abreast of compliance regulations, standards, and directives regarding governmental/regulatory agencies and/or third party payers for areas assigned.
  • Assists in training and instructing other pertinent CBO staff on invoicing and other related billing issues as deemed necessary.

Education, Certifications, Experience and other requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited college or university with at least a Bachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Medical billing or coding certification is required.
  • Must be able to type at least 45 wpm and possess intermediate knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office applications including Office, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Proven experience in medical billing for at least 5 years, including BEHAVIORAL HEALTH billing.
  • Expert knowledge of Florida Medicaid, Medicare, and third party billing practices.
  • Minimum of 3 years managing successful medical billing operations and billing staff.
  • Highly organized individual with excellent attention to detail and a great sense of urgency.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Exceptional planning, time management, problem solving and logical troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with internal and external customers.
  • Excellent Customer Service skills including telephone conversations and face-to-face.
  • Must be willing to travel outside of home base of employment to member centers, as required to provide support. May include some overnight travel.
  • Position may require long weekday hours.
  • Previous experience in community health center, medical office or dental office setting and/or knowledge of Healthcare Information Systems, preferably with Medical Manager or Intergy.
  • Membership of organizations or associations directly related to the Health Care industry is preferred.

This position reports directly to the Director of Reimbursement.
