Description : Basic Function: This position supports the SVP of Operations and Central Engineering. Responsible for all financial aspects of Operations including Operations Finance, Direct Materials procurement, Inventory Management, Standard Costing, and EDA tools and IP licensing procurement.
Responsibilities · Establish and forecast corporate gross margin goals · Review and track inventory levels & targets · Produce all operational financial forecasts · Calculate and plan product costs · Negotiate vendor contracts & pricing · Design and maintain metrics, best practices and process improvement activities · Cost Accounting areas include management of all aspects of manufacturing accounting including o month-end close of COGS & Inventory o standard cost setting & tracking o manufacturing variance analysis o inventory controls & management o business process improvement
Initiatives & Charter: · Address ongoing cost pressure and continuously improve/reduce cost - identify cost savings opportunities and contain headcount without negative impact to the business. · Design and implement better cost forecasting methodologies. · Facilitate move to Vendor Managed Inventory model; navigate risks and leverage opportunities. · Maintain operating infrastructure that supports high inventory turns. · Facilitate and advocate Supply Chain Automation initiatives · Support approximately $2 billion in manufacturing spend plus all MRO, EDA and Engineering spend for the entire company · Prepare and present margin forecast to Executive Staff
Reporting Relationships: The Director of Finance - Manufacturing, Ops and Central Engineering Group performs under the general direction of Broadcom's Vice President Finance and Corporate Development who is responsible for Broadcom's sales finance, business unit finance, and operations finance departments in addition to the company's mergers and acquisitions activities. Additionally, the Director Finance holds a strong dotted line to Broadcom's Sr. Vice President Operations and Central Engineering.
Supervision Exercised: The Director will manage a team of approximately 5 to 7 people. This will consists of 2 Sr Managers and 3 to 5 analysts. Job Requirements : Qualifications: · 10 or more years experience in semiconductor or technology industry · 5 years management experience, preferably in the semiconductor industry · 4 year degree required, MBA preferred · Business process and systems skills
