IS Manager I – Software Development Tools - Natick, MA
As leader of the Software Development Tools (SDT) team, you will be responsible for managing the suite of enterprise software development applications that support and enable software change control, source code management, and software quality across Boston Scientific. You will be responsible for working with business partners (across Information Systems, Research & Development, and Operations functions) to plan, execute, and support the migration of various software development project teams and organizations into the enterprise SDT environment. You will manage and develop a staff of 3-5 internal resources and external vendor partnerships to grow and support the SDT platform. Experience in management, project management, software development methodologies, vendor management, financial management, and business relationship management is preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyze the needs of functional departments and establish detail level objectives, goals, and priorities for enhancing the SDT platform, improving solutions to support functional initiatives, or provide ongoing systems support.
- Partner with members of various business functions to plan, execute, and support the migration of various software development projects and organizations into the enterprise SDT environment.
- Provide project management for on-going and future enhancements to SDT applications and new investments that will support the supported business areas.
- Track and communicate project status, plans, issues, timelines, and action items for various levels of stakeholders within IS and with business partners.
- Develop, monitor, and report key metrics of SDT applications.
- Manage and develop staff of 3-5 responsible for the SDT platform.
- Manage software vendor relationships and negotiate contracts with external suppliers.
- Maintains a validated systems operations state in accordance with internal Software Validation procedures.
- Understand all applicable aspects of the software development life cycle and ensure adherence to the Boston Scientific policies governing it.
Qualifications:
- Individual must have a minimum of 5 years experience implementing and managing applications and/or related business experience as well as knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle and 21 CFR Part 11 regulations.
- Experience managing and developing staff preferred
- Selected applicant must have strong analytical, project management, interpersonal and oral and written communication skills.
- A Bachelor’s degree is required.
- PMP Certification is a plus.
- Experience with Rational ClearCase, Rational ClearQuest, Rational Quality Manager, Rational Team Concert, or other software development tools is a plus.
