Provider Relations Supervisor Description

Functional Description: Supervise and provide direction for Provider Services Support Specialists, Provider Services Representatives and Publications and Technical Writer Team. Assume overall responsibility for design and development of regularly scheduled provider and client materials, including provider bulletins, client bulletins, provider manuals, provider directories and workshop/ presentation materials and special requests. Assume overall responsibility for ensuring publication standards set by HHSC and account directors are integral to all publications. Coordinate with Provider Services, Client Services, Enrollment/Contracting/Credentialing Departments and Health Services Division, and other departments/divisions needing publications support. Coordinate approval process for publications and presentations with HHSC and appropriate ACS staff, including establishing schedules for approval and revision process. Work closely with Recruitment Task Force, Provider Services Representatives, and Provider Services Manager to develop and retain adequate provider networks. Work with Provider Services Manager and Customer Services Director to develop and update provider training plan. Assist Provider Services Representatives in development of education and training programs for providers; provide support, direction and evaluation at provider education functions. Promote recruitment and retention in State Health-care programs through marketing and sales techniques. Develop goals and objectives for Provider Services Representatives for recruitment and retention efforts. Analyze recruitment and retention trends and modify goals and objectives based on data analysis. Report on a monthly basis all provider relations visits, workshops, inservices, recruitment and retention activities. Ensure that educational programs and materials include Texas Health Steps and family planning information, as appropriate. Interact with providers and their office staff to resolve issues related to claims processing, program concerns, client education/behavior concerns. Assist when necessary with detailed claims research, interfacing with other departments as necessary. Assist PCP Contract Compliance and Complaints and Appeals staff with resolution of issues and provider education. Work closely with supervisors of Communications Department to identify and address provider education issues through office visits, workshops or other educational venue. Provide information on staff activities and issues to Provider Services Manager. Conduct or provide input for annual staff reviews. Counsel employees as required. Coordinate with division trainer for training of staff. Other duties as assigned by Manager. Education and Typical Years Experience BA/BS or equivalent experience in Medicaid Claims/Medicaid Fee for Service or PCCM Supervision and Administration. Minimum 2 years supervisory experience in Medicaid Claims. Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication skills; Computer literate with knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and databases; Ability to handle multiple tasks with multiple priorities; Self-starter with demonstrated ability to work autonomously; Demonstrated ability/experience to interact with all levels of management Reporting and trending a must. Project management experience helpful. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Experience in conducting public speaking events. Sales and marketing experience helpful.
