University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview , Minneapolis , MN , has a full time opening for Health Information Coding Specialist on our Riverside Campus. This individual will accurately assign ICD-9-CM diagnoses and CPT procedure codes for outpatient records utilizing 3M encoder/Grouper, and reviewsmedical necessity and appropriate charging assignment of certain service codes. Will also write queries as needed for clarification.

Qualifications:

• Must be a graduate of an approved HIM program with credentials - RHIT, CCS/CCS-P, CPC/CPC-H or RHIA.
• Prefer 1-2 yrs coding experience.
