*Sr. Storage Operations Specialist- Data Domain

EMC Residency Services, one of the fastest growing practices within EMC's Global Services organization, provides onsite EMC professional service personnel who have the particular skills and experience needed for a defined duration. EMC residents assist with day-to-day storage operations and optimization of an information infrastructure, and they fill critical staff, skill or experience gaps. Typical tasks that an EMC resident may perform include resource management storage provisioning; storage monitoring; weekly status reporting; configuration; capacity and storage reporting; customer support, trouble-shooting and resolution; root cause analysis; storage management documentation; or storage operation integration.


Responsibilities

The Sr.Storage Operations Specialist provides operational support and guidance to customers to support the management and use of EMC storage solutions.
Responsible for performing a wide variety of daily storage management tasks as well as providing recommendations for effective and efficient storage system use.
Responsible for performing daily operational tasks like storage provisioning and maintaining availability at the customer site(s).
Provisions storage based on standardized procedures as outlined by EMC best practice documentation.
Provides proactive recommendations to the customer for improving storage operations and/or effective use of EMC storage solutions to help maximize their satisfaction with EMC.
Actively contributes to the configuration, layout and performance tuning of storage infrastructure.
Participates in the execution of the business continuance and disaster recovery plans as agreed upon by EMC and the customer.

Represents EMC in a professional manner to customers, EMC Partners and other EMC personnel at all times.
May be required to support and train both customers and less experienced co-workers.
Performs necessary storage infrastructure maintenance and necessary data migration, as required.
Must be willing to travel.

Hands-on Data Domain experience.
