SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER
JOB LOCATION: * Union City, N. California*
POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY: § Work in tandem with the Contract Executive in all aspects of the project. § Responsible for the delivery of the Project, including design assist, scope, cost & schedule. § Become part of the Integrated Project Delivery TEAM
§ Understand and implement Lean Project Delivery which consists of the following:
PRIMARY DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES: · Responsible for managing a larger project and team than a Project Manager I & II. · Develop Customers for Life. · Responsible for trade Design and Subcontractor management. · Leadership role to the entire project team. · Applies defined policies and procedures and takes responsibility for decisions and project issues. · Develops and implements procedural systems and strategies to ensure the continuous improvement of project teams and overall project performance. · Responsible for developing a clearly defined repeat client base and assists in future work procurement with these customers. · Consistently provides customer with all job related information regarding status of project. · Support Field Labor · Participate in equipment selection and subcontractor procurement. · Responsible for budget analysis reports, cost and revenue projections, budget analysis, change orders, construction plans, etc. · Mentors Project Engineers.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: § Proven ability to manage multiple projects at one time. § Demonstrated ability of training and developing successful project teams. § Demonstrated skills of proactively planning projects and improving their gross margin. § Ability to lead preconstruction activities on a major project. § Ability to perform value engineering analysis. § Strong knowledge of engineering systems, higher than the PE or PM level. § Ability to estimate large jobs in a fast paced and demanding environment. § Ability to communicate with all levels of management. § Ability to present proposals and give sales presentations. § Ability to manage large project team resources. § Strong knowledge of building HVAC mechanical systems.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management; 10+ years experience in related field. PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES: · Ability to read and interpret technical documentation including CAD drawings, Blueprints, Submittals, etc. · Ability to work at a computer terminal with mouse and keyboard for several hours per day. · Ability to visit job construction areas and climb stairs, maneuver in and around pipe work and air ducts and work safely in close proximity to construction materials and equipment.
