Assists Clinical Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations of the Rapid Response department. Provides knowledge and support to the staff on day-to-day technical questions and issues. Resolves all technical problems. Develops and conducts research into new technologies, writes and updates procedures as needed. Supervises and teaches other personnel; works closely with Medical Director and is familiar with accreditation requirements . The senior technologist also assumes responsibility for first-line supervision of a section of the laboratory on a temporary or part-time basis as delegated. Through the utilization of applied theories, principles and practices of clinical laboratory technology, the Senior Medical Technologist accurately performs and reports a wide range of routine and complex analyses in the Rapid Response sections of the clinical laboratory to provide data that assists the physician in diagnosis and treatment.
