Two openings: Pediatric Urology or Neurosurgery
This position is accountable for a "defined" patient population under the supervision of a licensed physician. Functions independently in a staff position, implementing the role of expert practitioner, consultant, educator, and researcher within a specialized area of patient care. Performs within the scope of licensure and in accordance with hospital policies. This position does require being on call according to a predetermined schedule or as needed, pursuant to hospital needs. Upon acceptance of an offer of employment and prior to providing patient care, candidate must submit Scope of Practice to the Hospital Interdisciplinary Professional Practice Council.
REQUIREMENTS
Nurse Practitioner
- Current California Registered Nurse Licensure required.
- Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner program. Master's Degree in Nursing.
- California State Certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
- NP National Certification required within 6 months of employment.
- Minimum three years related experience.
- Prefer five years of increasingly responsible experience which demonstrates professional working knowledge of nursing theory and practice, with competence in physical assessment, differential diagnosis, pathophysiology, pharmacology and management of acute and chronic pediatric problems.
- Must successfully complete the credentialing process through the Medical Staff office via CIDP for the appropriate scope of practice, written standardized protocols, and furnishing privileges. Bilingual skills desirable.
- BLS required.
Physician's Assistant
- Associates Degree required. Completion of a Physician's Assistant program.
- Current California license as a Physician's Assistant (includes certification by National Commission Certification Physician Assistant-NCCPA).
- 1- 2 years pediatric experience preferred. Bachelor or Master of Science Degree in a related field and experience and/or certificate in an applicable area of specialty preferred.
- Bilingual skills desirable.
- BLS required.
