Allied Wire and Cable is a value-add distributor of electronic and electrical wire and cable, tubing, and assemblies with headquarters in Collegeville , PA.
We are currently seeking a part time Shipper to our Collegeville PA Location.
Shipper (4pm – 9pm)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Compare indentifying information and counts, weighs and measures items of outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
- Determines method and mode of shipment to customer requirements
- Prepares and expedites shipments: Determines labeling requirements including but not limited to: Assemble and pack product containers, preparing and affixing shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information for cartons, skids or other storage devices in an accurate manner including any special labels that are customer required. Prepares all shipping documents in a timely and accurate manner. Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage.
- List truck or hand trucks to convey, move or hoist materials to proper areas
- Operates the stretch wrap banders in both departments
- Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Actively participate in department/shift/team meetings
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Good basic math skills
- Knowledge of machinery and tools used for specific jobs
- Detail oriented
- Works well in a team environment
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Must have Shipping Experience and be familiar with FedEx and UPS systems
