Medicare Billing Specialist

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Medicare Biller works to resolve problematic and aged medicare hospital claims on behalf of our clients. They contact the carrier for status updates, resubmit claims, write appeals when necessary, etc. We are looking for candidates that have experience working with hospital and/or physician insurance claims. Experience with billing Medicare claims is needed. Other duties will be assigned by management.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or equivalent is required
• Background with hospital medical claims is preferred
• Medicare claims experience preferred
• Experience with Excel is helpful
• Experience in medical billing field (hospital claims experience is preferred)
• Experience with following up on insurance denials and appeal protocols
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills
• Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD9 & CPT coding
