Position Description:
This IT Systems Analyst (SA) will collaborate with TOPS Partners in the analysis and development of the business requirements for the claims processing application. The SA owns the development of functional systems design and is responsible for the associated documentation, including walk-through's and sign-offs. The SA will support Development and QA groups before and during the build, test and implementation phase. This person participates in all phases of the systems development life cycle ultimately acting as a subject matter expert for the initiative.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Evaluates business requirements and prepares detailed specifications that follow project guidelines required to develop written programs
  • Formulates, defines and documents the functional system specifications
  • Devises or modifies procedures that solve complex business problems with due consideration for hardware/software capacity and limitations, operating times and the desired results
  • Analyzes and revises existing functional documentation
  • Generates innovative ideas to resolve problems
  • Responsible for meeting or exceeding all defined target goals and milestone dates for the project in order to ensure its overall success
  • Assists in training junior level personnel in technical complexities of assigned work

Qualifications

Requirements:
  • 5-7 years systems analyst experience
  • 5-7 years experience writing specification documentation
  • 2+ yrs Health Care experience (Claims Processing)
  • 3+ years experience working with different verticals: testers, developers, business partners
  • 3+ years knowledge of SDLC
  • Microsoft Office Tools - Word, Power, Point Visio
Assets:
  • Understanding of any of the following: VSAM, Cobol, Syntex, DB2 is a plus
  • TOPS experience is a plus
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
