Metalcraft Enterprises, Inc. is a division of Tubular Steel, Inc., a leading national distributor of carbon, alloy, and stainless steel pipe, tubing, and bar products. Tubular Steel has over 70,000 tons in stock at our eight regionally located service centers across the country. Metalcraft provides fabricating services for customers of Tubular Steel, as well as other large and small companies needing fabrication services.

We are currently recruiting for a Director of Operations to help manage our operations at Metalcraft Enterprises in New Haven , MO.

The Director of Operations manages all activities related to operations and development of company products by performing the following duties personally and through subordinate supervisors.

Responsibilities:

• Develops and maintains fabrication operations business plans to include all program requirements, labor hours, cycles and production costs;
• Provides input on the development of production strategy and the development of new fabrication capabilities;
• Establishes production and quality control standards;
• Develops budget and cost controls;
• Coordinates the fabrication activities with all other functions of the organization and suppliers to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment;
• Reviews production and operating reports and directs the resolution of operational, fabrication, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operations delays;
• Performs administrative activities associated with the effective management of shop operations, including compiling, storing, and retrieving production data for reports;
• Ensures plant personnel are trained and in compliance with safety procedures, work rules, and company policy;
• Ensures that Operations is directed and accountable to continuous improvement towards accomplishment of business objectives.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years experience in a metals fabrication operations;
• 5+ years of management experience.
• Prior exposure &/or responsibility for P&L

The Director of Operations reports to the CEO of Tubular Steel, Inc.
