Objectives Coordinate and optimize proposal process activities as assigned. Reports to Sales & Marketing Coordinator and Sr. Director of Product and Business Development. Proactively supports assigned product group on proposal process and other related marketing/sales activities with engineering, contracts, purchasing, quality assurance, manufacturing and finance as required. Emphasis on expanding proposal response time capabilities, reducing bid and proposal costs and increasing overall customer satisfaction (reducing bid cycle time). Optimize Business Development's infrastructure with daily support to Regional Sales representatives. Job Scope Receives and processes customer RFP / RFQ inquiries as assigned. Develop technical, management and cost proposals based on customer-segment opportunities, customer needs and competitive offerings for client products. Clerical duties include processing price quotations and generating an appropriate technical proposal response in conformance to customer specifications. Handles and resolves customer problems as needed. REQUIRED SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS: Expert skills using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) products with the ability to produce publication-quality proposal material very quickly Strong research skills Considerable experience researching on the World Wide Web The ability to effectively manage time and projects reliably and with punctuality QUALIFICATIONS Minimum BA or BS Degree in English, Technical Writing, Communications, or a related field; or BS degree in a technical field with exceptional writing skills. Excellent analytical and communication skills; demonstrated team player and leader; high energy and initiative. Five or more years experience in high technology products to government and commercial institutional customers. SUMMARY: Candidate must posses a minimum of five years in a technical sales environment, ideally in the fluid flow peripherals industry. Possesses excellent written and oral communication skills and basic understanding of technical sales processes. To perform well in this position the candidate must be organized and detail-oriented and must be able to present information in a clear, compelling way. He or she must have strong grammar skills. Candidate must be able to write in a conversational—yet professional—tone and style. He or she must be a fast, independent worker—someone who can produce publication-quality first drafts and who can effectively manage their workload with minimal supervision.
