Overview:

ACE USA Accident & Health underwrites various commercial A&H products including: business travel accident, voluntary AD&D, international travel insurance, participant accident, employer & provider stop loss, etc. through a variety of distribution channels.

Working with these products and distribution channels provides the opportunity to apply and enhance process and technological skills and directly impact business strategies and initiatives. This position will work directly with the senior management team to support the overall business goals of the division.

Responsibilities:

To provide operational support for all business groups within Accident & Health and to assist the Accident & Health Operations team in the development of business requirements and the management and implementation of projects.

Duties include:

* Support AVP Operations in documenting and implementing business requirements for system development and enhancements.

* Develop and maintain project plans to support strategic business initiatives

* Participate in the review of existing business flows and support the development of solutions that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Accident & Health Division.

* Maintain internal Access reporting databases. Develop new forms, reports, macros, processes as business need dictates. Train users on appropriate usage of reports.

* Support the development of new product offerings and distribution channels by developing appropriate process and requirements to ensure efficient and effective execution of business strategies.

* Work with AVP Operations in the implementation of new processes, participating in upfront analysis, the development of project plans with pre-determined deliverables and a solid implementation schedule.

* Participate in identifying and implementing ways to improve A&H’s ability to manage processes by formalizing procedures within the group, supporting the development of metrics to monitor progress and providing access to management information.

* Support the development of business and service standards for A&H and those groups that support its businesses. Work with the AVP Operations to monitor and validate that standards are being met or action plans are in place to achieve them.

* Work with the AVP Operations to implement the change management process and the coordination systems requests.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

* College Degree or equivalent experience as evidenced by 5 years in the insurance industry.

* Background in insurance processing, underwriting and/or technology.

* Ability to effectively communicate the attainment of business goals and objectives through teamwork in an open, entrepreneurial environment.

* Strong Microsoft development skills, e.g. Excel, Access, Visio, Project

* Strong end user report writing skills

* Strong project management skills

* Strong analytical, presentation and communication (oral and written) skills

* Good problem solving and influencing skills.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

* Knowledge of insurance business and processes

* Five to seven years operations background

* Experience using Hyperion, Cognos or similar tools

* Functional knowledge of data flow and other technology strategies, as well as process design.
