POSITION OVERVIEW
Our Sales Associate Program is a unique year-long opportunity for the next generation of Sales Leaders at EMC. This program is targeted towards recent college graduates and those beginning their career. In fact, over the past five years, the Sales Associate Program has graduated over 350 Sales Associates into Inside Sales and field-based Account Manager positions. The program offers intense EMC product and sales training, combined with sales mentoring from EMC sales professionals. Following the successful completion of the Sales Associate program, you’ll then become a member of our Inside Sales team. Success within the Inside sales team will lead you to an eventual outside sales role.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Working in a virtual team environment with our Inside Sales and Field Sales teams, the primary focus of our Sales Associate position is to generate qualified customer leads that the inside and outside sales teams can develop into sales opportunities. This includes:
- Using multiple lead-generation tools, you will generate potential sales leads via the phone. Meeting a quota for daily, weekly, and monthly appointment goals by making a minimum of 50 outbound calls per day.
- Understanding EMC’s wide ranging product solutions. This will be accomplished by participating in ongoing Sales, Business and Technical training courses to increase overall awareness of EMC’s solutions and go-to-market strategies.
- Participating in verbal presentations and written tests that measure sales competency and messaging ability.
- Having the opportunity to participate in “Partner Blitzes” to help educate our partners and grow EMC’s channel business to drive incremental revenue.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree required coupled with the absolute desire to begin a sales career.
- Must be a self starter with a measurable ability to multi-task and adapt to changing situations.
- Prior sales experience preferred but not required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills resulting in the ability to influence others.
- Conveys a sense of urgency and drives issues to closure.
- Must be mature and confident with strong interpersonal skills and a true team player.
- Concurrent with your educational pursuits, a history of extracurricular activities such as sports, student government, societal membership, part or full-time work, etc., is desired.
