Department Overview

R
responsible to the Head of Application Management for Sales, Research, IBD and Client Technologies for managing the delivery of first class Application support services to the Sales and Banking businesses located in the Americas.
Regularly meeting with main business stakeholders in the region to ensure that the service provision is meeting their expectations. The stakeholders are heads of the various business units i.e. Distribution, FX, Commodities, Money Markets, Emerging Markets, Futures, Equities
The US team has 10 staff (there are a further 15 staff located in EMEA and ASIA) with a further 20 staff located in a 24hr 2nd line support function based in Singapore.

The function globally supports 5000+ users across the Investment bank on the key systems used by Sales and Banking business to execute their business.


Main Function
  • First Line Application Support function requirements:
Overall ownership and accountability for daily operations, performance and availability of the applications supporting Sales and Banking in the Americas; following ITIL aligned standards & processes

Directly manage first line support teams: Sales Trade Capture (STC) support team and CRM, Reporting and Banking support team
Indirectly manage interaction and service provided to the Americas from 24hr 2nd line support teams located in Singapore.

Work with regional and global Application Development functions to enable the delivery of new or changed services and associated RTB functions and processes

  • Application Management (Run the Bank) requirements

    Implement and coordinate corporate-wide IT initiatives within the Sales and Banking areas (e.g., new Incident and Change Management platforms; Disaster Recovery efforts; CAPEX approval process, data center migrations, new technology deployments, control and risk management)

    Act as a single point of contact for US Sales and Banking IT for Application Management RTB activities

Work with Service Management Office within COO to define and contribute to standard reporting and management information

  • Relationship Management:

    Actively engage with senior Sales and Banking management to communicate status, new initiatives and issues and to elicit priorities.
Build and maintain strong relationship with IT Infrastructure groups to enable the delivery of the end to end Business service

Maintain excellent relationships and partnerships with Application Owners, with key focus on operational service delivery to the Business
  • Security & Controls

    Maintain compliance to regulatory, risk and control policies.

    Implement new Audit and Security standards where and when
    needed (e.g., Breakglass, database control patching, account management access privileges etc
    )


Person Requirements
Strong experience of Application or IT Production Management within an Investment Banking environment.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Evidenced project management experience in delivering significant business enabling technology.
Experience of managing a team across geographies and within a matrix organisation.
