Software Developer/Architect:
The Software Architecture and Solutions Group is a team of world-class senior engineers/architects who are committed to empowering scientists with systems and information to discover drugs more effectively and efficiently. Our team supports the global NIBR research community, providing them with cutting edge software and data management solutions. The members in this group will have a chance to participant in groundbreaking medical research activities working hands on with world-class scientists and informatician all over the world.
The Software Engineering and Solutions Group is the core of a broad and diverse software engineering community within NIBR –members of the SAS Group are responsible for formal as well as informal influence within this community of highly driven and top performing individuals. Specifically, Software Developers/Architects will be expected to : • Build and deploy real production systems with scientists who have high expectations for quality, turnaround, performance and reliability. • Create and execute in real systems inspirational reference software and data architecture that can be reused by others within the NIBR Software Community • Create and promote interoperable systems and the efficient reuse of software and data between disparate systems within NIBR • Work closely with the operations team who will manage and support the applications being developed • Formally and Informally integrate professional software development practices as appropriate into the front lines of NIBR science groups and inspire others within the software community to emulate these practices.

• Advanced degree in Computer Science from reputable program with top performance. • Experience building commercial quality web-based software solutions at significant scale with the most advanced tools including both Microsoft-centric and Java-centric platforms. • Demonstrated ability to work well as part of a high performing software engineering team. • Interest in intersection between the life sciences and computer science. • Willingness and ability to use variety of tools in very heterogeneous environment to achieve science and business goals. • Experience building and managing “big data” systems- Strong communications and interpersonal skills
