Reports to: Client Support Manager Position Type: Full-time, Permanent Location: Sunnyvale, California
Description:
The Client Support Engineer provides technical support and client services to the mBlox client base, as well as completes troubleshooting for client-reported service issues. Secondarily, the role involves monitoring of the mBlox production platform to make sure all client interfaces and applications are maintained and operational. Key responsibilities include:
§ Investigation of 1st and 2nd line client support issues § System monitoring and fault management § Problem resolution and client communication § Trouble ticketing system management utilizing mBlox systems/tools § Supporting international clients
Essential Skills:
Thi s p osition will suit an autonomous self-starter with energy and enthusiasm who is comfortable interfacing with clients and working a s p art of a team. The candidate should demonstrate the following:
§ Flexibility for shift work and out of hours call duty. This position is for the 1:30-10:30 shift only. § Good technical knowledge, particularly in a Unix/Linux environment § Proven client facing experience and/or customer service skills § Focus on delivering high quality client service § Problem resolution skills, and the ability to process multiple tasks and tickets concurrently, with motivation for resolution § Thorough and calm under pressure § Excellent written and communication skills
Position Requirements:
§ IT or related degree preferred § 1-3 years experience in a related role § Knowledge of Linux and Unix (User and/or System Administration level) § Good understanding of TCP/IP, networking, client/ server applications, SMTP, HTTP, SSH, SQL and database management systems § Basic understanding of Java and XML required, and exposure to Perl and Shell Scripting useful § Previous experience from the SMS industry helpful, but not essential § Fluency in multiple languages helpful, but not essential
