Cardiac Rehabiltation Center The goal of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Center is to provide complete and individualized rehabilitation services as appropriate to promote and improve the functional abilities of patients recovering from heart-related events. We serve a predominately Medicare clientele; however, clients with a variety of payment sources are also seen. Clients are referred by their attending physician, with a documented diagnosis of: · Acute MI within the preceding 12 months · Coronary bypass surgery · Stable angina pectoris · Heart valve repair/replacement · Percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA) or coronary stenting heart or heart-lung transplant
Phase II is an 18-week, monitored exercise program with a planned educational program. The client may receive a maximum of 36 cardiac rehabilitation sessions. The Phase II program is monitored by an ACLS-certified RN and an ACLS-certified, Master’s-prepared Exercise Physiologist. Cardiac Rehab Techs are also utilized as needed for safe and progressive programs.
Phase III is a self-monitored exercise program overseen by an RN, Exercise Physiologist or Cardiac Rehab Tech, who provides direction to the client as needed. Rehab or med/surg experience is preferred. 12-hour shifts are available.
Position Summary: Skills/Requirements Education/Experience: Required: Or Baccalaureate in a Rehabilitation Science: Physical Therapist
Or Masters degree in a rehabilitation science
Licenses/Certification: Required: Or License to practice as a Physical Therapist in Texas. Current certification as BLS course C or D provider.
Works autonomously, sets priorities and makes independent decisions of a complex nature. Interfaces directly with public, physicians, staff patients, administration and ancillary/ support department representatives. Written and verbal communication skills adequate for performance of the position. Maintains confidentiality of patient’s medical records. Regular and predictable attendance is required. Must be able to demonstrate understanding of HCA’s and St. David’s “Patients First" safety initiative by strict compliance to all safety protocols and procedures. ![]()
