Responsibilities: Operate as the Home Office "point person" for Canadian Programs that provide property coverage. Review and approve underwriting guidelines, manage the referral process for specified accounts, general programs, form / endorsement wordings. Function as the primary contact for our HSB embedded equipment breakdown coverage; organize and track approved program guidelines, present new program opportunities to HSB and obtain terms of approval; provide location data to HSB as necessary. Function as the primary contact for property referrals for Product Line Managers and Program Manager. Involve Senior Property Officer as needed. Keep Senior Property Officer informed of such activity. Oversee the RiskMeter vendor facility. Maintain communication with CDS - RiskMeter, add and delete users as necessary, address other divisional issues regarding usage of the product, stay attuned to available new functions within the facility. Work with the New Business Product Manager, Senior Property Officer and Product Line Managers / Product Managers on new opportunities as needed or requested. This will entail identification of exposures, development of underwriting parameters, creating submission information for our treaty partners if needed, involvement in the due diligence process. Attend PA audits where property expertise is required for such audit (coordinate with the audit department and senior divisional management). Provide feedback to audit department and senior divisional management regarding any property related issues that may require action. Work with Senior Property Officer and reinsurance department in collection, organization and scrubbing of divisional data for treaty submission (Property XOL, Bloodstock and Marine). Share responsibility for timely review, revision and approval of Underwriting Guidelines and Program Reviews. Work with the Senior Property Officer and modeling department, as required, in regard to Catastrophe management for specific programs. Request analyses, review data, present results of analyses to Property Officer for discussion and decisions on parameters for appropriate control of Catastrophe exposures, to limit divisional loss potential. At the end of each quarter, review the York Claims open claims data that we receive as respects property claims. Address property claims open more than one year, determine reasons for the extended period, obtain resolution and closure. Review any claims over $100,000 for subrogation potential, obtain feedback from York. Document claims addressed above and track progress on closure and subrogation efforts. Keep senior divisional management posted as respects progress and successes. Work closely with Senior Property Officer, Program Administrators, Program Managers and Product Line Managers as respects form and endorsement wordings specific to each program that may be required to achieve success in development and growth of our various programs. Skills/Experience: Minimum 10 years property underwriting experience. Prior staff management experience. Familiarity with reinsurance procurement and procedures. Familiarity with property and inland marine form wordings.
