JOB SUMMARY
The Director of Human Resources is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the human resource functions including but not limited to: employee relations, recruiting & retention, performance management & recognition, compliance, compensation, benefits, orientation, HR policies & procedures, and employment laws. In addition to overseeing the human resources' operation, the incumbent will have the opportunity to implement initiatives that will support a growing and changing environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Manage core HR generalist processes and approaches in such areas as employee guidance, management consulting, compensation programs, recruitment, training, organizational development, benefits, policies and programs.
- Evaluate the current employee retention strategy; design and implement a strategic retention plan related to stabilizing the current workforce.
- Develop and implement employee recognition programs.
- Design and implement benefit and compensation programs that constantly monitor company needs and provide detailed market analysis.
- Manages benefits, compensation and overall HR practices for international employees.
- Evaluate the current recruitment strategy, design and implement a strategic plan related to recruitment, hiring, and orientation.
- Administer the company’s performance management system.
- Maintain proper and legally compliant record retention.
- Ensure compliance with all Federal, State and Local laws for employee practices and policies, salary and wage administration, safety and environmental compliance and required training.
- Participates in the strategic planning as well as the development and implementation of programs related to Human Resources; formulates policy and procedures.
- Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation pertaining to all personnel matters.
- Provide hands on management of personnel issues relating to performance and other matters
- Manage large-scale projects, such as focal review cycle, annual bonuses, reductions-in-force/reorganizations, etc.
- Direct, execute or coordinate with managers, the proper handling of employee problems, disciplinary actions and resolution of employee complaints in an effort to provide fair and consistent treatment.
- Oversees and ensures the quality of the HRIS.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Must have proven successful interpersonal relationship skills to maintain effective and satisfactory working relationships with intra-department and inter-department staff, vendors, clients, visitors, and contractors.
- Experience growing companies from start-up phase to a post public company
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible Human Resources Management and leadership experience.
- PHR/SPHR certifications preferred.
- Must be able to demonstrate experience and an understanding of the legal and statutory issues related to the Human Resources administration.
- Strong recruiting background with at least 5 years managing the recruiting function.
- Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Ability to approach complex and sensitive issues in a pragmatic way.
- Practical knowledge of HRIS; experience with ABRA HRB preferred.
- Experience working in a multicultural environment.
- International HR experience is highly desirable.
- Thorough working knowledge of applicable employment laws, regulations, and processes, such as EEO, FLSA, FMLA, WARN, Workers Compensation, and ADA
§ Knowledge of and ability to apply sound employee management practices; coach/advise managers through difficult, complex, and potentially litigious situations
§ Ability to follow oral and written instructions with ability to read, interpret, and present information efficiently and effectively.
