Install & repair electrical systems, instrumentation, and electrical components of machinery



· Install power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such as conveyors and programmable controllers.

· Connect power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment.

· Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus such as valve controllers, instrumentation devices, motors, fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.

· Test malfunctioning machinery and discusses malfunction with other maintenance workers to diagnose malfunction. Update PLC programming to remedy system problems.

· Calibrate on-line measuring instruments.

· Replace faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, and motors, and positions sensing devices.

· Diagnose and repair or replace faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards.

· Replace electric motor bearings and rewire motors.

· Operate computer controlled (PLC) systems, teach pendant, and laptop computer interface, program and troubleshoot automated machinery.

· Diagnose and replaces faulty instrumentation control devices, pneumatic, and electrical apparatus in buildings.

· Request parts (stock and equipment) for purchase and implementation.

· Assist in planning layout of wiring and installs wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings.

· Comply with HR policies and procedures.

· Comply with relevant employment laws.

· Other duties as assigned.

A combination of the listed skills and knowledge is preferred:

· High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

· Three to five years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Ability to operate specific computer software and related hardware.

· Familiarity with basic mechanical and/or electrical terminology.

· Ability to recognize problems with various types of industrial machinery.

· Ability to program various PLC systems.

· Experience in the food processing.

· Journeyman Electrician's License.
