Job Description
Sales Support Specialist will provide support to the Siemens Energy sales team by providing research and information gathering support working directly with engineers, project engineers, plant managers to identify customer product requirements related to utility power plant maintenance and outage support. Proficiency with sales opportunity (sales) systems, order entry systems, Microsoft office products is required. General understanding of power industry is required. Ability to travel occasionally to customer power plants located in the general Chicagoland vicinity, Northern Indiana and Michigan is also required. Ability to travel occasionally to Siemens manufacturing and service facilities for training and customer visits is required. Travel is estimated at 10% annually.
Successful candidate will have excellent communication and follow up skills. Must be self motivated, tenacious, and relentless in the pursuit gathering requirements, specifications, and data and documenting this data so it is accurate and actionable. This position is a critical role within the Sales organization. Candidates will be comfortable representing Siemens on customer sites gathering specifications and requirements on future repair and maintenance services. Knowledge of turbines, generators and Balance of plants (BOP) is highly desirable.
