Bacteriologist/biochemist sought for research associate position within a dynamic infectious diseases group devoted to novel antibiotic discovery at the Novartis Institutes for Biomedical Research.
This position will broadly encompass general bacteriology/physiology, molecular biology and biochemistry, with an explicit emphasis on Gram negatives. Familiarity with genetics, recombinant strain construction, RNA preparation/transcriptional profiling, protein purification and biochemical assay development highly desirable. Candidate must be a flexible self starter, highly motivated, adaptable to meet the demands of quickly changing priorities and possess excellent organizational and communication skills.
The ideal candidate will have a BSc/MSc degree in molecular biology or biochemistry and several years of relevant industry experience within an infectious diseases context.
