Specific responsibilities include:
- Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of the Healthcare dining services department, and provides food services for residents.
- Oversees the food preparation, serving of meals and cooking to ensure meal are prepared per Alterra procedures.
- Maintains appropriate nutritional documentation in resident's medical records.
- Directly supervises employees in the dining services department.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training staff; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; two to four years experience in healthcare food services.
- Familiarity with MS Windows, MS Office and E-mail (MS Outlook or Exchange).
- Basic typing skills essential.
- A thorough knowledge of food safety and sanitation, culinary nutrition, and supervisory management is required.
- Certified Dietary Manager certification required with prior dining services experience in senior housing or long term care.
