Assistant Teacher - Laurence Armour Day School: Rush University Medical Center

The Teacher Assistant will be under the supervision of the Coordinator. The Teacher Assistant will be responsible for planning and implementing an age and developmentally appropriate daily program as a caregiver for Preschool Children. Responsibilities include but not limited to: Participating with children ages 2-5, provide care, nurturance, protection and supervision for all children on site, on excursions and during pick up services. Proper care of program equipment and supplies, works as a team with all classroom staff, collaborating with team members in planning the program.

Responsibilities:

Demonstrate positive interactions with children through verbal and non-verbal communication within the program's philosophy and guidelines.
Assist in planning and implementing curriculum activities and primary care giving based on the educational program goals and guidelines, utilizing observations and recordings of children's behavior. Monitor the safety of assigned group of children at all times.
Establish a relationship with parents through daily contact, conferences, orientations, and meetings for the classroom assigned.


Qualifications:

Associates Degree in Education highly preferred. Qualified candidate must have child care experience.
