Supervisor IT Infrastructure #3801

PSE’s Telecommunication Services Department is looking for a Supervisor IT Infrastructure to join our team to supervise technical staff of Telecommunications Engineers. This position will assist in development of resource plans, department budgets, and department goals and objectives. We are looking for someone who can work to develop, improve, maintain, and implement IT Telecommunication systems and networks. The Supervisor IT Infrastructure will work with internal customers to provide needs assessments, alternatives, system requirements and reliability, implementation cost and schedules, and internal/external resource requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

· Employee Development & Team Building - Providing employees with coaching, feedback, and developmental opportunities and building effective teams.

  • Plan and develop project budgets with appropriate documentation
  • Develop and evaluate alternatives and recommends solutions to business or technical problems.
  • Ensure infrastructure reliability and stability using proactive monitoring and measurement.
  • Establish and maintain effective customer relationships and represents single point-of-contact for Telecom Engineering team.
  • Work with internal and external resources to coordinate planning, engineering and design of IT infrastructure.
  • Provide on-call 24x7 support on a rotational basis.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology or related field (appropriate additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree).
  • Experience managing projects and/or people, including schedule, resource allocation and budgets.
  • Experience leading and participating in internal and external teams
  • Minimum 7 years experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Fiber Optics
    • Point-to-Point Microwave
    • TDM Networks
    • DS0 to OC3 Provisioning/Management
    • Communications Site/Facilities Management
    • DC and Generator Power Systems
    • IP Network Management
  • Knowledge in a variety of industry best practices and commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within Telecommunications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced degree and/or PE certification.
  • Leadership experience and training.
  • Working knowledge of SAP and PSE budgeting and planning process.
  • Basic understanding of electric and gas distribution infrastructure and field practices.
