Program Manager: Talon

Our client, located in Raleigh NC is seeking a Program Manager for an immediate Contract to Hire position. Details include:

In order to be successful in this role, you must possess strong leadership and project management skills. You will be a part of the IT Project Management Office (PMO), and will be responsible for helping to further establish methodologies, process & tools. As an expert in project management, you will manage projects from inception through delivery, across diverse geographic locations. You will coordinate resources, tasks, and deliverables across multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent presentation, as well as effective oral and written business communication skills are a must.

Job Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have experience in the following:
* Advanced knowledge & demonstrated application of project management practices, including day-to-day
management of tasks, coordination across teams, prioritization, risk mitigation & portfolio-level management.
* Helping business and IT persons in creating documentation, including project charters,
business cases, requirements/ functional specs, project schedules, communications plans, etc.
* Keeping management and customers informed of status and deliverables on multiple, simultaneous projects
* Working collaboratively across large, geographically dispersed teams
* Demonstrating an ability to work independently and to manage assigned project responsibilities with limited supervision
* Exercising good judgment in identifying issues, facilitating problem-solving and recommending solutions
* Effectively guiding team and organizational members in the implementation of established company procedures
* Using independent thinking to develop action plans not addressed by established company procedures
* Demonstrated ability to proactively manage stakeholder expectations
* Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
* Proficiency interfacing and working with senior management

Additional duties may include:
* Learn the business, including processes, people, systems and market
* Advise the business about options, risks, and cost
* Evaluate, document and communicate cross-functional impact for projects in an assigned area
* Build strong relationships with cross-functional, internal departments
* Strategic development of the PMO, related-tools, methodologies, etc.

Strong Preferences:
* Experience establishing process improvements
* Experience with or interest in agile, scrum or iterative development methodologies
* Familiarity with the company's business practices, products, and services
* Specific technology experience, including Open Source & Red Hat Linux
* Knowledge of systems development concepts including underlying
technologies, system architecture, database and application design
* College degree, specialized training or equivalent work experience
* Minimum five plus years of relevant work experience
* A balance of business and technical background/experience
