MANAGEMENT Procurement Manager

Job Duties and Major Responsibilities:
- Prepare standard purchasing forms, including bid requests, material requisitions, purchase orders, logs, reports, and trending data. Issue purchase orders, contracts, and change orders.
- Support engineers and estimators in preparations of estimates by vendor contact for budgetary pricing for equipment and materials. Acquire special pricing for bids from manufacturers in a "time is of the essence" manner.
- Coordinate purchasing with bid development, contract activities, including specification development, research, sourcing, solicitation, procurement, contract development, and execution
- Develop win-win relationships with vendors and providers; negotiating terms and ensuring proper delivery of orders on desired dates
- Track and post actual dollar amounts from bids gleaned from the Purchase Order Log, and post amounts weekly to the bid tracking file. Responsible for registering and tracking bid opportunities with all manufacturers that participate in a "bonus" program.
- Ensure maintenance of proper vendor files including insurance certificates, terms and conditions and contractual agreements. Monitor vendor performance on an ongoing basis.
- Review bid opportunities that are received overnight from bid finder agencies and evaluate bids specific to the RM product line. Provide assistance in the preparation of bids; working to develop scope and project requirements
- Acquire and integrate education industry knowledge related to current trends, emerging technologies, and competitors' solutions
- Work as Team Player in a schedule-driven environment. Timing is critical function of role.
Required Skills and Experience
- Exceptional customer service skills, vendor relationship expert
- Highly articulate, solid communicator, detail oriented and fast learner.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and prioritization skills
- Experience with Sage MAS 90 is a plus; competency with MS Excel and Office.
- Capable of balancing multiple projects
- Energetic, self-starter with strong work ethic and ability to work independently
- Experience using Salesforce.com or other CRM, ability to run forecasting reports
- Minimum three (3) years experience in purchasing of AV equipment or similar, Bachelors Degree desired.
