Important projects while at Aldea
· Technology and methodology advisor to Aldea Guatemala for the creation of a web development outsourcing center. Responsibilities included interviewing and selecting project leaders, supporting those leaders on developer interviews, selecting and evaluating technologies, preparing and imparting course materials and defining the development process and methodology.
· Development and architecture of an in-house business process engineering tool, including automatic form creation, business rule definition and graphical workflow management. This tool allows a non technical user to create a fully functional web application for various kinds of business processes without programming experience.
· Definition and drafting of coding and development process standards used throughout the company.
· Lead developer and architect of a web based credit process management application for Banobras in Mexico. As a government institution, the bank won a presidential award for technological achievement for this project.
· Lead developer and architect of a content management and publishing site for Proceso magazine in Mexico. Responsibilities in this project included converting the magazine's archive of over 60,000 articles into a searchable catalog and setting up the production site with a web caching engine and load balancing for hundreds of thousands of daily hits.
· Design and development of a tool for package delivery administration for DHL customers in Mexico. The software was distributed to more than 3,000 corporate customers and allowed them to keep a database of delivered packages and generate printed airway bills and bar codes for the shipments.
· Part of the development team that created a custom content management application for policies and procedures at ISOSA (the main systems development contractor for the SHCP in Mexico), and later on at the SHCP itself.
· Part of the development team that created an internet banking system for the now defunct Banco del Atlantico in Mexico.
· Development of several credit simulation applets for the mortgage and housing credit branch of Banamex, Mexico's largest bank.
Skills
· Capable of designing and developing complex internet applications using any available platform, including Zope/Python and all Java-based web application servers (J2EE), Mason, PHP and ASP.
· Experience managing and developing complex content management sites with Plone.
· Strong understanding of web technology and standards, which allows for quick adoption and practical use of new technologies.
· Practical experience in object oriented programming and methodologies.
· Extensive, real-world experience in Java, Python, and Perl.
