GETRONICS INC./ DELL Jun 2003 - Jun 2004 Installer 1 Field service tech, supported the 250,000+ computers owned by the NYC Department Of Education. Worked on all types of equipment, and traveled throughout the five boroughs. Worked on Wintel computers from Win 95 to Win XP Pro, and Macintosh from OS 8 to X. Saved Getronics from multiple Workman's Compensation lawsuits, by bringing in my own tools, and bracing many lateral filing cabinets. The cabinets were top-heavy when fully loaded, and fell repeatedly, narrowly missing workers. After I reinforced them, the cabinets no longer tipped over, and were much safer. All gear mounted in SKB road cases, and inter-connected with custom cables terminated in 96 pin DL connectors. Wiring for system done with studio-grade Monster cable. Special modified star-grounding used, with ground orientation as per Monster. Components used were of the highest quality available. NATIONAL VIDEO CENTER 1999-2001 Staff technician Supported the following computer-based recording systems: five Euphonix consoles (DOS), five Pro Tools systems (Mac), one Fairlight (OS-9), and two Audiovision (Mac) systems.
