NORTHBOUND LLC Jun 2004 - present
Field service technician
Per-diem field service, moves/adds/changes, trouble-shooting,
and repair for a variety of clients. These include Standard &
Poor's, Sarcom Inc., The Healthy Advice Network, and
others. Work includes network trouble-shooting, re-imaging
computers, tracing wiring problems, field service of computers,
network (and other) configuration of workstations. Travel to
all boroughs of New York City to work at client locations.

GETRONICS INC./ DELL Jun 2003 - Jun 2004
Installer 1
Field service tech, supported the 250,000+ computers owned
by the NYC Department Of Education. Worked on all types of
equipment, and traveled throughout the five boroughs.
Worked on Wintel computers from Win 95 to Win XP Pro, and
Macintosh from OS 8 to X.

Saved Getronics from multiple Workman's Compensation
lawsuits, by bringing in my own tools, and bracing many lateral
filing cabinets. The cabinets were top-heavy when fully loaded,
and fell repeatedly, narrowly missing workers. After I reinforced
them, the cabinets no longer tipped over, and were much safer.

Kept 20 mission-critical data entry people working by installing
and maintaining their computers. This included imaging,
trouble-shooting, network configuration and repair.
Did server installs and software rollouts for other Getronics
clients. Researched the use of high-speed scanners/OCR to
improve throughput and cut costs. Researched improvements
to local network architecture to increase speed/reliability.

Prior to this phase of the work, I was part of the core group
performing inventory and asset management for the NYC
Department of Education. Personally responsible for data
upload to servers from floppy disks for over 15,000 assets.
Designed dual OS upload/virus scan system for both
Windows/Macintosh. Documented floppy upload process,
