I am the owner of Betsy’s CGC, a tutoring and computer lesson business in Bowling Green, Kentucky. I help people learn about the internet, personal computers, computer software and more. I also help students with English, ESL, and study skills.

My specialty is helping seniors learn how to operate their computers and go online. I teach how to send and receive email, make custom web pages and blogs, and how to operate many different kinds of software.

I am available to tutor students of all ages in English, Social Studies, Drama, Poetry, writing, reading, SAT/ACT prep, test preparation, class projects, ceramics, weaving, beginning piano, goal-setting, homework and study skills, and more.

Teaching and Student Teaching
After receiving my Teaching Certification in English and Allied Arts, I was able to teach students grades 10-12 in a diverse classroom. I edited portfolio pieces, taught technology-rich classes, and operated a computer Whiteboard system, projector, computer, and stylusboard. My students made their own PowerPoint presentations, posted to a class blog site, wrote original poetry, acted in original student-made plays, and constructed 3-D dioramas, web pages, and group projects.
I was also able to team-teach in a Special Education-only class.

April, 1999 - March 2003

GERALD PRINTING Bowling Green, Kentucky. Position: Proofreader, Graphic Artist. Joe Davis bought Thomas Printing Company in April 1999. I am self-taught and familiar with Pagemaker, Illustrator, Corel 8, and Photoshop programs, along with other major graphics programs such as Lotus and Microsoft. Excellent proofreader. Speed reader. I was laid off because of a work slowdown.

January, 1988 - April 1999

THOMAS PRINTING Bowling Green, Kentucky. Position: Graphic Artist, Counter Salesperson. I designed the gamut of business forms and advertisements, flyers, ads, brochures, etc.
Mike Thomas sold his business to Joe Davis in 1999.

1982 - 1987

A & D PRINTING Evanston, Wyoming Position: Assistant Manager. Prepared job quotations using the Franklin system, scheduled printing jobs, purchased materials. Set up typesetting jobs.

1979 - 1982

TRANSYLVANIA PRINTING COMPANY, Lexington, Kentucky. Position: Proofreader, Typesetter. Checked negatives and plates, set up jobs, proofread typesetting jobs for sister firm, Robin Typesetting.
